Prosecutors Deny Arrest Warrant Request for Nicki Minaj Amid Assault Allegations
Nicki Minaj will not face arrest over assault allegations by her former manager, Brandon Garrett, as prosecutors denied a warrant request due to insufficient evidence. Garrett alleges Minaj physically attacked and threatened him during a 2024 Detroit tour dispute over her prescriptions, leading him to file a lawsuit for assault, battery, and emotional distress. Minaj's legal team has dismissed the claims as baseless. Prosecutors have directed police to continue investigating. The case remains open, drawing public attention as both parties maintain their positions while awaiting further developments.

Prosecutors Decline to Charge Nicki Minaj in Assault Case, Citing Insufficient Evidence

Nicki Minaj will not face arrest in connection with the assault allegations brought forward by her former manager at least for the time being. The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has reviewed the Detroit Police Department's request for a warrant but has declined to proceed, citing a lack of sufficient evidence to substantiate that a crime had been committed.

A representative from the Prosecutor’s Office stated that while the warrant request has been denied, law enforcement has been directed to conduct further investigations into the incident.

This suggests that the case remains open, pending the outcome of additional inquiry by the police. The allegations stem from a civil lawsuit filed by Brandon Garrett, Nicki Minaj’s former manager. According to Garrett, the incident occurred in Detroit during Minaj’s tour in April 2024. Garrett claims that Minaj became enraged over a dispute involving her personal prescriptions. He alleges that this led to a physical altercation during which Minaj threatened his life, struck him in the face, and slapped him on the wrist. As a result, Garrett is suing Minaj for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Despite these claims, Minaj’s legal team has vehemently denied the allegations. Her attorney dismissed the lawsuit as entirely baseless and without merit, describing it as a "false and frivolous" attempt to tarnish the rapper’s reputation.

The controversy has drawn significant public attention, particularly given Minaj’s high profile status in the entertainment industry. However, the Prosecutor’s Office’s decision to withhold approval for an arrest warrant indicates that, at present, there isn’t enough corroborative evidence to support the claims made in the lawsuit.

It has been reported that Garrett’s accusations include verbal threats and physical aggression, which he says caused him considerable emotional and physical distress. However, Minaj’s representatives have yet to respond to the latest developments, and the Detroit Police Department has not issued any further comments on the ongoing investigation.

As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen whether additional evidence will surface to support Garrett’s claims or whether the investigation will eventually exonerate Minaj. For now, the legal battle continues, with both sides standing firm in their respective positions.
