Sean “Diddy” Combs’ long-standing feud with rapper and mogul 50 Cent reignited following the announcement of a split verdict in Combs’ high-profile federal trial. The jury found Combs guilty on two counts related to the transportation of individuals for prostitution, but he was acquitted on the more severe charges of sex trafficking and racketeering an outcome viewed as a partial legal victory.
In true 50 Cent fashion, the G-Unit rapper wasted no time taking to Instagram to mock his rival.
“Diddy beat the Feds, that boy a bad man!” he wrote, punctuated with clapping emojis. He went even further, quipping, “Beat the Rico, he the Gay John Gotti,”
likening Combs to the infamous mob boss known for slipping past racketeering convictions.
A Decade Old Feud Reignites
Throughout the trial, 50 Cent repeatedly mocked Combs, reacting to shocking courtroom revelations with biting social media commentary. After a former Combs employee testified about an alleged armed kidnapping, 50 posted: “Cut, CUT. Wait a minute PUFFY’s got a gun, I can’t believe this I don’t feel safe. LOL.” Another post featured Sesame Street’s Bert and Ernie in lingerie, referencing testimony that Combs and one of his accusers used those nicknames for each other.
Their feud dates back nearly two decades, stemming from 50 Cent’s 2006 diss track “The Bomb,” which accused Combs of hiding information about the Notorious B.I.G.'s murder claims that have never been substantiated. Tensions may also have flared over 50’s interest in signing Mase, one of Combs’ marquee Bad Boy artists.
Despite the split verdict, Combs still faces up to 20 years in prison. His team celebrated the outcome, as he was cleared of the most damaging allegations. Visibly emotional, Combs thanked the jury and embraced his legal team. While his lawyers push for release pending sentencing, prosecutors insist he remain jailed until the October hearing.
