Cardi B Faces Legal Action for Throwing Mic at Fan in Vegas Showdown

Nearly two years after a viral incident during Cardi B’s 2023 performance at Drai’s Beachclub in Las Vegas, the Grammy-winning rapper is facing a new lawsuit. A woman, identified only as Jane Doe in court documents, is suing Cardi for assault, battery, and negligence after allegedly being struck by a microphone the rapper threw into the crowd.

At the time, Las Vegas was experiencing extreme heat temperatures reportedly soared to 110°F on the day of the performance. In an attempt to cool off, Cardi encouraged the crowd to splash water on her.

Video footage shows her telling fans, "That s*t feels good, put that st in my p*y b**h." However, she also warned concertgoers not to aim for her face, saying, “That was too fast,” after being unexpectedly splashed.

Lawsuit Claims Emotional and Physical Harm

According to the lawsuit, Jane Doe claims she only did what Cardi asked—throwing water to help cool the artist down—when things suddenly escalated. During a second toss, the water accidentally hit Cardi in the face, prompting the rapper to hurl her microphone into the audience with noticeable force. Jane Doe says she was the one hit by the mic and alleges that the incident has caused her emotional trauma and distress.

Her attorney, Cierra N. Norris, is planning a press conference in Las Vegas to address the legal claims and raise public awareness. Jane Doe also points out that the microphone Cardi threw was later auctioned off for nearly $99,000, which she says worsened her emotional suffering by turning the event into a spectacle.

Cardi B, no stranger to legal trouble, previously pleaded guilty to charges related to a 2018 strip club brawl and has faced multiple defamation lawsuits. As of now, her legal team has yet to comment on the new lawsuit.
