Jay-Z is pushing back strongly against claims made by a man alleging to be his biological son, calling the accusations “fabricated” and asking a federal judge to put a stop to what his legal team describes as ongoing harassment. According to documents exclusively obtained by Us Weekly, the rapper, born Shawn Carter, has labeled the new lawsuit brought by Rymir Satterthwaite as just the latest in a long campaign of false claims.
The 55-year-old hip-hop mogul said he first became aware of the new case on June 3. In response, Jay-Z’s legal team has requested additional time to prepare a proper legal rebuttal. His lawyer argued that without the extension, Jay-Z would be “irreparably prejudiced” in his ability to respond effectively.
Efforts to coordinate with Satterthwaite’s guardian reportedly broke down when Jay-Z’s attorney claimed she abruptly ended communication during a phone call.
Claims of Fatherhood Lead to Prolonged Legal Fight for Jay-Z
Satterthwaite, 31, filed the lawsuit in May without legal representation. He accused Jay-Z of deliberately silencing him and preventing the truth about their alleged relationship from becoming public.
The suit claims Jay-Z had a relationship with Satterthwaite’s late mother, Wanda, in the 1990s, and that efforts to prove paternity through legal channels have been repeatedly suppressed or dismissed.
Satterthwaite also alleged Jay-Z used his influence and celebrity status to manipulate court proceedings and avoid accountability, including refusing DNA testing and allegedly engaging in fraud across multiple jurisdictions. One prior case was dismissed due to jurisdictional limitations.
Adding to the drama, Satterthwaite claimed his vehicle was shot multiple times in what he described as an attempt to intimidate and silence him.
While he’s not seeking back child support, Satterthwaite is demanding damages, citing emotional distress, mental health issues, and the impact of having his previous paternity suits dismissed.
Jay-Z has denied all allegations, and the legal fight continues.
