Kevin Hart Jokes Kanye West Should Be Banned from BET Awards After 'Biting' Playboi Carti

Kevin Hart kicked off the 2025 BET Awards with a monologue that had the audience in stitches and Kanye West squarely in the comedic crosshairs. The comedian wasted no time teasing Ye, pretending to receive a message from the controversial rapper as the show began.

“Ah shit, it’s Kanye,” Hart exclaimed, glancing at his phone.

“He says he’s outside. He’s waiting for someone to let him in.” The audience laughed, but Hart wasn’t done. “Don’t do it, okay? We’ve all seen the movie Sinners. Don’t let him in here so he can bite somebody so he can bite Playboi Carti again!

Hart’s punchline referenced the recent vampire-themed thriller Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan. Drawing from the film’s vampiric imagery, Hart claimed, “Playboi Carti’s definitely been bit. I don’t care what anybody says something happened to that man.”

Hart Sounds Off on After-Parties and Shows Love to Female Rappers

Shifting gears, Hart then took a jab at celebrity yacht parties, specifically the now-infamous Memorial Day bash hosted by Cardi B and NFL star Stefon Diggs. “Let me be clear no after-parties tonight. That’s why we did this on a Monday. People got jobs!” he said. “Those after-parties? That’s where it all goes downhill.”

Without naming names, Hart alluded to recent allegations against figures like Diddy, adding, “No yachts, no boats, no Cardi B pink stuff—none of that! We're keeping it clean tonight. It's a school night!”

To balance the jokes, Hart closed his monologue with a heartfelt salute to the women of hip-hop. “Shout out to Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Doechii you ladies are killing it,” he said. “We love you, we see you, and we support everything you’re doing. Keep pushing the culture forward.”
