LeBron Joins the Chorus: Raps Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Track While Vacationing

It’s becoming more evident that the once-close friendship between LeBron James and Drake may be nearing its final chapter. The rift appears to be deepening, particularly as LeBron continues to embrace Kendrick Lamar’s music especially the chart-topping diss track “Not Like Us,” which takes aim at Drake.

While vacationing in Cannes with his wife, Savannah, LeBron was recently captured on video enthusiastically rapping along to the viral track. The clip, originally shared by XXL, shows both James and his wife enjoying themselves, mouthing the lyrics to Kendrick’s song. For many fans, this public show of support for Kendrick Drake’s rival in one of hip-hop's most high-profile beefs in recent years feels like a pointed message.

LeBron’s Subtle Shots and Drake’s Growing Frustration

LeBron’s admiration for “Not Like Us” isn't new. He was also seen vibing to the song shortly after its release last May, and again at Kendrick Lamar's electrifying "Pop Out" concert in June. The Lakers star has also co-signed other tracks Kendrick released during the beef, including “Chains & Whips” and “TV Off,” signaling consistent support.

Drake, on the other hand, hasn’t taken these gestures lightly. In his recent single, “What Did I Miss?”, he appears to call out former allies who sided against him many believe LeBron was one of the unnamed targets.

Lyrics such as “I saw bro at the Pop Out with them but been d**k-riding gang since ‘Headlines’” fueled speculation.

Adding to the tension, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Drake had his tattoo of LeBron's high school jersey covered up. It's now seemingly replaced with a tribute to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. During a recent Wireless Festival set, Drake even altered the lyrics to “Nonstop,” switching out a LeBron reference with a subtle diss: “6 to 23, but no LeBron.”

Their feud may not be lyrical, but it’s certainly playing out in full view.
