Sean "Diddy" Combs is facing growing scrutiny as his criminal trial continues to unfold in Manhattan. The music mogul, 55, has been charged with sex trafficking, racketeering, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Following a dramatic June 13 hearing that featured a surprise courtroom appearance by rapper Ye, Combs returned to court on June 16. The hearing also saw Chelsea Lovelace, one of his accusers in a separate lawsuit, come forward publicly by name for the first time.
Adding to the explosive allegations, Combs’ former personal assistant, Jonathan Perez, gave chilling testimony about his duties in organizing and cleaning up after what were described as “freak-off” parties lavish, sexually charged gatherings also known within Combs’ circle as “king nights.”
Perez had worked for Combs up until the mogul's arrest in September 2024.
High-Profile Witnesses Take the Stand
A parade of witnesses, including major music industry figures, have testified during the trial. Among them are Cassie Ventura Fine, her husband Kid Cudi (Scott Mescudi), and singer Dawn Richard. Members of Cassie's inner circle have also appeared, including her mother Regina Ventura, stylist Deonte Nash, makeup artist Mylah Morales, fashion designer Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, and friend Kerry Morgan.
Several former staff members have testified as well such as Perez, Capricorn Clark, George Kaplan, David James, and a woman identified only as “Mia.” An ex-girlfriend referred to as Jane Doe and male exotic dancer Sharay Hayes have also provided accounts of Combs’ alleged behavior during his private parties.
The trial has also involved expert witnesses and a hotel security officer who admitted to accepting a bribe to suppress surveillance footage allegedly showing Combs assaulting Cassie in 2016.
Though celebrities like Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio have been mentioned, they are not implicated and were only referenced in context to past public events Combs attended.
