Nicki Minaj Demands $200M from Jay-Z, Warns ‘Hov’ Supporters of Divine Payback

Nicki Minaj reignited her ongoing dispute with Jay-Z in a fiery post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, July 8, accusing the rap mogul of owing her a massive payout for her stake in the music streaming platform Tidal. The claim follows weeks of subtle jabs and cryptic remarks aimed at the Roc Nation founder.

Minaj alleges that Jay-Z, her former collaborator on Kanye West’s “Monster,” owes her anywhere from $100 million to $200 million for her share in Tidal. The platform launched in 2015 with 15 celebrity co-owners, including Minaj, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Kanye West (Ye), and J. Cole. Each artist was granted a 3% equity stake when Tidal was valued at approximately $56 million.

In 2021, Tidal was acquired by Jack Dorsey’s Square Inc. for $302 million. While the exact terms of the celebrity stakeholders’ payouts were never disclosed publicly, Minaj claims she was only offered $1 million for her equity far less than the $9 million valuation she believes is fair based on the sale price.

Minaj Plans to Give Back If Paid

Taking to X, Minaj wrote, “We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt. It’s only collecting more interest.”

She also emphasized that she plans to use the money for charitable efforts, adding, “I’ll use it to send some of my Barbz to college, pay their school fees & student loans via my #StudentOfTheGame charity.”

Minaj reposted fans who supported her claims and continued her social media campaign with a tone that mixed sarcasm, resolve, and purpose. As of now, Jay-Z has not responded publicly to her accusations, but the situation has stirred intense online debate about artist equity, transparency, and corporate accountability in the music industry.
