Young Thug Sparks Controversy With Quickly Deleted Tweet Labeling Kid Cudi a "Rat"

Rapper Young Thug stirred up major controversy late Thursday night with a now-deleted tweet aimed at fellow artist Kid Cudi. The tweet came shortly after Cudi's viral testimony in the ongoing Diddy federal trial in New York, which has featured multiple explosive revelations.

Thug, currently facing legal challenges of his own in the YSL RICO case, took to Twitter to post a brief but loaded message:

"Dam cudi a rat lol." Although the tweet was quickly deleted, it didn't go unnoticed.

Screenshots spread rapidly across social media, prompting intense debate among fans and cultural commentators.

Kid Cudi’s Explosive Testimony in Diddy Trial

The deleted post sparked renewed conversation around the concept of "snitching" and whether civilians like Kid Cudi, who is not known for involvement in street politics should be held to the same code of silence often expected in the criminal underworld. Many defended Cudi’s decision to testify, arguing that his recounting of events involving Diddy, including an alleged home break-in and a firebombing of his Porsche, was brave and necessary.

During his court appearance, Cudi revealed disturbing details about his brief relationship with Cassie Ventura and how that connection reportedly triggered anger from Diddy. He alleged that Diddy broke into his home, tampered with security cameras, and locked his dog in the bathroom. Weeks later, his luxury Porsche was destroyed in what he described as a Molotov cocktail attack.

Despite the intensity of his testimony, Cudi later admitted the experience was emotionally taxing and said he was relieved it was over.

As for Young Thug, his response appears to reflect a hardline stance rooted in his own legal battles and street loyalty. Known for publicly criticizing perceived “snitches,” including rapper Gunna, Thug continues to vocalize disdain for those he believes betray unwritten codes whether fairly or not.
