Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced Tuesday that he wants all Americans to wear health-monitoring devices as part of his agency’s new wellness campaign. Speaking to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, he said the initiative is the largest public health ad campaign in the department’s history.
Kennedy explained that the goal is to help Americans monitor vital health data and take charge of their well-being. He said the devices will help users see how meals affect glucose levels and heart rate in real time. This data could lead to better dietary choices and increased physical activity.
Kennedy Touts Wearables As Cornerstone Of National Health Revival
The plan includes a push for popular devices like FitBits, Apple Watches, Oura Rings, and glucose monitors. Kennedy believes wearables are a central part of his MAHA agenda and said they will make Americans more accountable for their health.
He noted the national obesity rate is at 40 percent and said poor health is now a security concern. He added that timely personal data can help people act faster and change bad habits.
Kennedy said Starbucks will soon adjust its menu to support the MAHA mission. The coffee chain already avoids harmful additives but will further align with the new guidelines. Earlier this year, Kennedy banned artificial food dyes from all U.S. products.
In his statement Kennedy said, “We think that wearables are a key to the MAHA agenda of making America healthy again and my vision is that every American is wearing a wearable in four years.”
Dr. Casey Means, Trump’s nominee for Surgeon General, supports this push. Her CGM company, Levels, offers wearable glucose monitors that track real-time metabolism through an app.
