Charlamagne Rips Democrats For Demanding Congress Approval After Trump’s Iran Strike

Radio host Charlamagne tha God is calling out Democrats for their outrage over President Donald Trump’s recent military action in Iran. Speaking on his show Monday morning, he said their criticism is dishonest because previous Democratic presidents did the same thing without asking Congress.

Over the weekend, Trump launched strikes using B-2 bombers on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities. The Pentagon confirmed that all sites suffered severe damage. In response, some Democrats voiced concern over Trump acting without congressional approval.

Charlamagne Calls Out History Of Executive-Ordered Strikes

Senator Mark Kelly said on NBC that Trump should have asked Congress for permission before the attack. He claimed that was the constitutional way and would have allowed lawmakers to discuss the strategy.

Charlamagne disagreed with how Democrats framed the issue. He said politicians like Kelly sound like hypocrites because past presidents including Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Bill Clinton also acted without approval.

He reminded listeners that Obama struck Libya, Biden bombed targets in Iraq and Syria and Clinton ordered action in Kosovo. He said these leaders were not impeached and their actions barely made headlines.

Co-host Morgyn Wood said impeachment had been discussed in the past over such actions. Charlamagne was not convinced and said he did not recall Biden facing any serious pushback when he ordered military strikes.

"I don’t even remember hearing about it during the Joe Biden administration," Charlamagne said.
