President Donald Trump on Monday dismissed all reports suggesting his administration is talking to Iran or preparing any offers involving their nuclear program. He directly attacked Senator Chris Coons who had claimed that Trump might offer Iran access to $30 billion to support a civilian nuclear energy effort.
Trump denied this and said that under his administration there were no discussions no offers and no deals. He posted on Truth Social that the United States has already dealt with Iran by striking and totally destroying their nuclear facilities. He compared his actions with President Obama’s policy and said Obama had paid Iran billions under a failed nuclear deal.
Trump Doubles Down On Iran Strikes And Hits Media
Trump told reporters on Sunday that the airstrikes carried out by the U.S. completely wiped out Iran’s nuclear operations. He said the destruction was total and that it stopped Iran’s nuclear goals at least for now. He criticized the media for spreading false reports and said that networks like CNN and the New York Times were pushing misinformation.
Trump expressed anger that the press cited a Defense Intelligence Agency report suggesting the damage was limited. He even suggested the reporters should be forced to reveal their sources behind the leak.
“Tell phony Democrat Senator Chris Coons that I am not offering Iran ANYTHING” – Trump.
Trump made it clear that the U.S. gave Iran nothing and that his actions were firm and final. He also warned that any reports claiming otherwise were dishonest and politically motivated. The Fordow Fuel Enrichment Facility was among the sites reportedly targeted during the strikes. Trump maintained that the results spoke for themselves and that Iran’s ambitions were halted for a significant time.
