President Donald Trump has directly accused Barack Obama of treason. Trump made the claim while speaking in the Oval Office. He said Obama was the mastermind behind the Russiagate investigation. Trump called him the “leader of the gang” that tried to overturn the 2020 election.

Trump also blamed former FBI Director James Comey and CIA Director John Brennan. He said they worked together to attack his presidency. Trump said he previously chose not to go after Hillary Clinton after the 2016 election. But now he believes it is time to target those who targeted him.

He said Obama and others met in the Oval Office to plan the operation. Trump believes they leaked fake intel to the media. That intel suggested Russia helped him win the 2016 election. Trump said it was all false and part of a cover-up.

Gabbard Claims Obama Officials Faked Intel To Launch Coup

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released a report last Friday. She said Obama’s team politicized intelligence. She believes they created false stories about Russian interference. Gabbard said it was an organized plan to remove Trump from power.

She promised to refer those officials to the Justice Department. Trump repeated her claims on Tuesday. He said now is the time for action. 

“After what they did to me—right or wrong—it’s time to go after people,” Trump said.

Critics say Trump is trying to distract from the Epstein case. But House Speaker Mike Johnson said he would back a subpoena for Obama. Legal experts say it is unlikely Obama will be charged. But Trump’s statement has raised tensions across Washington.
